iAudio M3 in the car

The iAudio M3 is a nice little mp3-player. The one I have is the 20Gb version, and the first concern for a car mount was how the harddisk should do with vibrations and cold/heat in the car. I took the cover of to examine what kind of harddrive it uses and found a Toshiba MK2004GAL 1.8 inch unit (http://www3.toshiba.co.jp/storage/english/spec/hdd/mk2004.htm). It has the following spec:
Temperature Operating 5–60°C
Non-Operating -20–65°C

Not too bad, but I have to decide if I will take it inside on winter or not.

To be continued...

CdMount

Status: Fully working

What is CdMount?
- A simple Gtk interface to the system commands 'mount' and 'umount'
How do I install it?
- Run 'gcc -Wall -g $1.c -o $1 `gtk-config --cflags` `gtk-config --libs` cdmount.c'.
Move the binary 'cdmount' to for example /usr/local/bin.
Move configurationfile 'cdmount.conf' to /etc.
Done.
Who wrote it?
- Me, Patrik Hermansson.
Is it GPL'ed?
- Yes indeed.
Where do I find new versions, help etc?
- cdmount.sourceforge.net

Spaceguard

Status: Fully working

This is a little application that runs in the background, until the specified harddiskpartition runs low on space. I haven't created any makefile, just type "gcc -Wall -g spaceguard.c -o spaceguard `pkg-config --cflags gtk+-2.0` `pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0 gthread-2.0`" to build it.
