Psion Organizer II. Programable PDA with 2-row monochrome display.

Siemens IC35. With WAP-browser, to be used with Siemens mobile phones.

AMD 486DX4-100 & 386DX/DXL/40. Full speed ahead :)

Mambo Server

This site uses Drupal, but there are other good CMS's out there. Mambo (http://www.mamboserver.com) is one of them, I made some notes when I installed it on my private server.

    Download and untar file
  • wget http://mamboxchange.com/frs/download.php/7368/mambov4.5.3h.tar.gz
  • tar zxvf mambov4*
  • touch configuration.php
  • chown nobody configuration.php
  • chown nobody administrator/backups/
  • chown nobody administrator/components/
  • chown nobody administrator/modules/
  • chown nobody administrator/templates/
  • chown nobody cache/

Opera Mini and SonyEricsson K750i

Submitted bypatrik onFri, 2006-05-12 11:31

I tried to use the free Opera Mini browser on my SonyEricsson K750i, but even though I could connect to the internet with the internal browser Opera wouldn't connect. Instead it said:

You do not have a working network connection. Please visit http://help.opera.com/mini/ with your desktop browser for instructions.(error:

I tried different settings for WAP and data connections, but no go. Really irritating.... In a last desperate attempt I searched the internet for a while about this error, and at last I found the solution. Opera is a Java app, and these apps have their own internet settings.

Linux on the 939DUAL-SATA2

I really like this new board with support for both PCI-E and AGP and much more. Only problem (as usual) is to get full support in Linux. Here's some info I dug up about kernel modules:

Audio - Realtek 850 7.1channel AC'97 iaudio codec - use snd-intel8x0?

Onboard LAN · Realtek RTL8201CL 10/100 Ethernet - use uli526x

SATA2 controller (JMicron JMB360)

According to Uli, the south bridge acts like the m1689 and it is in the kernel.
The JMB360 SATA2 chip is not supported yet
due to the addition of the JMB360 SATA2 chipset in one of the latest 2.6.16 kernel release candidates.

Sata works out of the box (sata_uli module).

Some small things about this great board.

  • Compile a new image and configure the kernel:
  • source init_env
    make -C packages/os/linux-2.4 menuconfig

  • Webcam
  • Method #1 - Patch the kernel
    cd /home/fox/devboard-R2_01/os/linux/drivers/usb
    wget http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/embedded/KernelPatch/usb-2.4.31LE06.patch.tar.gz
    tar zxvf usb-2.4.31*
    patch -p1 < usb-2.4.31.patch
    cd /home/fox/devboard-R2_01/
    make -C packages/os/linux-2.4

    Configure kernel:
Multmedia devices - Video for Linux - module
USB -> Support for USB - yes
-> Preliminary USB device filesystem - yes
